Hi all,

My name is Al, I just moved back to the area. I am a mechanical engineer, working in Baton Rouge.

I have been wanting to get into RC planes a bit for a few years now, (mostly multi engine warbird type planes...such as the C-130s I used to work on)

I am looking for suggestions on where to start off, plane/kit etc for a good starter, electric or nitro, and where around Baton Rouge I can order/purchase one.

Thanks

Jimmy

the best way to get started is a good trainer i fly nitro but electic is not a bad way to go.

there are a lot to choose from so the best way to see is to come out to our field.

we have a great group of guys that love to talk about airplanes and you can see how the planes are setup.

most of our club members fly on the weekend so i would like to invite you come out to the field to see the planes in action

If there is a intro pilot instructor at the field you can fly one.

I fly on most sundays so come on out and check us out. Hope this helps

Well, I went to the hobby place near florida/airline today, bought a nitro trainer plane, RTF, already put the pieces together....I think I did it right....guess we will find out soon enough. Will set it to charge batteries saturday night, and then see y'all out htere sunday hopefully, pending decent weather of course. Hopefully someone there who can spend some time teaching me pretty much everything I need to know that I can learn in a few hours...

What time would be best? I do have church to go to in the morning, normally either a 9:45 or 11:30 mass, but church is the only plans I have for this sunday, and maybe a few football games that evening..

we (the sunday flyers) are at the field from about 9 to 3 and there should be a instructor pilot there.

if it is hot sometimes we break it off around 1 or 2 and if it's cool we might be there all day.

hope to see you there.

P.S. If you need more info feel free to call me
